MCC Time to Tangle with Colours - Wk 2

Links: MCC (My Creative Classroom), Marie Browning

The Dual Brush Pen assignment for the second week was to create a tangled landscape whilst focussing upon the indirect blending technique with the Blender Pen. I also wanted to try using the optional 'haloing' technique that Marie demonstrated. With hindsight I might have been better only adding a few haloed swirls in my lower portion of sky. When I haloed the inside of the outermost border in grey there was very little difference between the halo & the black so I tried moving it a little with the Blender Pen & ended up quite pleased with the result. Some more lessons learnt through what I would once have considered mistakes. I also used stippling to create the foliage for the fractal tree.

Landscape ZIA
tangles: Chillon, Fractal Tree, Jonqual, Knightsbridge, Meer, Mooka, Nipa, Printemps, Purk, Scallops
Tombow Markers colouring on Canson XL Series Mx Media 98lb/160g paper

Oh my goodness Paula, what a beautiful landscape. The combination of zentangling and shading give such wonderful perspective, I feel as if I could just walk into it.

What a cleaver combination of tangles you have used to create the rolling hills. I especially like way the fractal tree is wind blown to the side while the colouring brings it all to life. I am inspired.

Sorry about that, my voice recognition threw a curve ball with a couple of words.

Goodness me Paula, what a work of art, I can't begin to imagine how long this must have taken you.

The whole design so appeals to me being a landscape and all that, the sky coming down to the ploughed field, then the crops growing, the winding path so in perspective and then the trees, an ans and an apple.

That's just my fantasy within your picture so forgive if I've got the elements wrong, but I really love it and appreciate you sharing such talent.

Hope you are getting some of this very welcome sunshine and have a lovely weekend.

Stunning Paula!
This is such an incredibly detailed scene that I had to keep looking for a long time to make sure I had indeed seen every little detail.
I agree with Claire, I feel like I could step into the drawing and take a slow and pleasant walk through it.

Very clever indeed!

Big hugs

This is a wonderful landscape with such a sense of depth. Love your two very different trees and the various textures achieved in the fields with that wonderful path running through like a 'yellow brick road'.
