MCC Time to Tangle with Colours - Final Project

Links: MCC (My Creative Classroom), Marie Browning

The last assignment was also the pencil project for the fourth week. It ended up being quite a challenge to add the colour as the Coloursoft pencils proved rather difficult to layer in the Black Page Album Moleskine I'd chosen to work in. As I'd already completed all the tangles when I discovered the lack of 'tooth' for layering I persevered  but mostly stuck to using one single colour in each small section of pattern.

Another great piece of tangling and the colours look good despite you difficulties and you wouldn't think you had only used one pencil for each different piece. The black background makes it look like you have blended several shades

This is another fabulous piece Paula. I am amazed at the depth of colour you achieved with pencils on black paper. I don't think I have ever tried that so didn't realise it would work so well.

Stunning Paula, love the shapes & colours. It almost looks like the texture of a rug. Beautiful art again, Shirleyx

The colours have worked very well on the black - more coverage than I would have imagined (must give it a try). An interesting selection of tangles, most of which I've not seen before.

Gorgeous! This piece makes me think of those rich designer bed comforters. Thanks for your thoughtful comment on my blog, and blessings my friend!

This is impressive, getting such depth of colour on the black background. I agree with Arnoldo who said this looks like a qulit, it has such great texture. Elaine x

Oh Paula, this is fabulous! Yes, my first thoughts were of a quilt or an elaborate garden, like the intricately laid out formal gardens of grand estates, if you know what I mean? Complete with a garden maze (the green section at the top)

fabulous, I love it!

Big hugs

Like Shirley I think your tile looks like it has a nap, just like a rug or piece of velvet. Very brave of you to try pencil on black, it works really well. My favourite part is the top section, probably as I love greens & blues, the knotted line is just brilliant. I have just bought Marie Browning's book on coloured Tangling but have not had time to practice anything yet.

Hello Paula,

What a fantastic piece of work!
I love your selection of colors together with the motifs you have chosen. I can't help but think of a landscape seen from way up...it would be an enchanting land for sure ;-)

Thank You~
